About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced web developer to build and maintain high-performance custom websites (mostly on WordPress) for our diverse client base. You’ll be responsible for the complete development lifecycle — from translating designs into functional sites to ongoing maintenance, security, and performance optimization. Working alongside copywriters, designers, and consultants, you’ll ensure every site delivers exceptional user experience while meeting business objectives.

This role is ideal for developers with several years of WordPress experience, a strong portfolio of custom builds, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

Development & Technical Implementation

• Build custom WordPress websites using modern builders (Elementor, Themeco Pro, Beaver Builder)
• Write clean, well-structured PHP, CSS, and JavaScript code
• Implement Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, taxonomy structures, and dynamic content solutions
• Develop custom plugins and theme modifications when needed
• Ensure detailed translation of designs and wireframes into responsive builds

Performance & Maintenance

• Optimize sites for speed, mobile performance, and Core Web Vitals compliance
• Conduct regular security audits, plugin updates, and preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot complex issues across WordPress core, themes, and plugins
• Perform site migrations, launches, and staging environment management
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery protocols

Collaboration & Project Management

• Work within project timelines across multiple concurrent website builds
• Collaborate effectively with design and content teams to ensure cohesive deliverables
• Document development processes, create reusable components, and maintain code standards
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
• Participate in project planning and provide accurate time estimates

Quality Assurance & Optimization

• Conduct thorough QA testing across browsers and devices
• Implement SEO best practices and accessibility standards
• Set up and optimize tracking tools (Google Analytics, GTM, etc.)
• Monitor and improve site performance metrics continuously

Technical Requirements

• 3+ years of WordPress development experience with a strong portfolio
• Advanced proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
• Experience with page builders (Elementor preferred) and theme customization
• Understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, and core architecture
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
• Third-party API integrations and custom plugin development
• Advanced WordPress plugins (WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, WP Rocket, Wordfence)
• Basic understanding of server environments and hosting configurations
